Bugzilla CLI Skill
Use this Skill to create exactly one Bugzilla issue only when the user clearly asks to file, report, or create it. If the user only describes a problem, help draft the report and ask before submitting. Do not use browser automation or call Bugzilla endpoints directly.
Collect the fields
Before submission, collect these Bugzilla fields:
productcomponentversionsummarydescription
Do not guess product, component, or version values. Ask for missing required values. Pass optional fields only when the user supplied them or their valid value has been confirmed for the target instance. Do not invent priority, severity, assignee, status, groups, or custom-field values.
Configure credentials
The bundled CLI requires Node.js 18 or later and has no npm dependencies. Set BUGZILLA_URL and BUGZILLA_API_KEY in the Bash execution environment, or configure them in .env.local in the current workspace. Never put credentials in this Skill package, issue JSON, command-line arguments, conversation, or output. Never ask the user to paste an API key into chat.
Submit
Invoke this Skill's bundled scripts/create-bug.mjs by resolving its path within the installed Skill package. Pass the issue JSON on standard input; do not place issue content in command arguments or temporary files. For example, from the Skill package directory:
node scripts/create-bug.mjs <<'BUGZILLA_JSON'
{
"product": "ExampleProduct",
"component": "ExampleComponent",
"version": "unspecified",
"summary": "Short issue summary",
"description": "Steps to reproduce and observed behavior."
}
BUGZILLA_JSON
The script invokes the bundled native REST API CLI. On exit code 0, report the returned Bugzilla ID and summary. On a non-zero exit, report the error without claiming the issue was created. If a timeout or lost connection makes the result ambiguous, search for the exact summary before considering another create request. Do not automatically retry a create request.
This Skill creates issues only. It does not update, delete, assign, or otherwise modify existing issues.
